Job summary
A ideal opportunity has arisen for a kind and caring person to join our team of health professionals here at Millom community hospital.
The post will be primarily working on the 9 bedded in-patient unit however, there may be at times a requirement to work within our district nursing team.
The successful applicant will be required to work early shifts, late shifts and night shifts on a internal rotation basis. This is a 24 hour care facility where flexibility of working is required to support the smooth running of the service.
The idea applicant would have previous experience in care along with a reliable and dedicated nature.
The post will offer 30 hours per week over a 7 day rota.
Main duties of the job
Assist the staff nurse to deliver a high standard of care to all our patients either on the in-patient unit or in the community.
To report back to the staff nurse information gathered during a shift regarding patient care and safety.
Work along side other dedicated team members to deliver all activities of daily living to our patients.

Direction/delegated and be to organise own workload following delegation
Supervise the work of junior staff and learners within the team/department.
Deliver a high standard of care to all patient and report back to the nurse in charge.

We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our Community Service for adults are provided in people's homes ,community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent , improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care , advice and support.
