Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and energetic band 5 nurse, with either a mental health or learning disability nursing qualification, to work on a busy, but rewarding acute inpatient treatment ward at The Scarisbrick Centre. We are looking for highly motivated staff nurses who possess excellent clinical expertise and interpersonal qualities that are able to deliver compassionate recovery focused care and treatment. The successful candidate must be a committed to effective teamwork and be able to work collaboratively as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team that delivers high quality person centred care. We are looking for innovative nurses who are able to engage effectively with service users, carers and other key stakeholders to enhance the inpatient experience which is a key priority for our team.The positons available will be suitable for both experienced and newly qualified nurses from either a mental health or learning disability background. Main duties of the job

You will be a registered mental health nurse working within a multidisciplinary team and carrying out a diverse range of duties. You will be passionate about the care of those suffering from severe and enduring mental illness and will be committed to the ongoing service development.As a Band 5 Nurse within the team you will be regularly supported and supervised by a nominated Band 6 Nurse and you will be encouraged to take personal responsibility for clinical supervision and your continued professional development plan.If required, you will be supported during a period of preceptorship and engage on the trusts Preceptorship programme. You will actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and Code of Conduct. You are required to maintain links with your professional body and provide evidence for the revalidation process.You will provide nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care given to service users.You will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across clinical boundaries and in unfamiliar situations as outlined within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
