Job summary
Required to work at any location at any time throughout the duration of their contract within the RDaSH footprint or set out under terms of their contract. Travel outside the RDaSH footprint may also be required. The base for this role at the time of advertising will be Kimberworth Place, Rotherham.
The post will be working in both generic CAMHS and ADHD.
Most of the clinical work will take place at the central clinical base. However, the post holder will be required to undertake assessments elsewhere, for example, Paediatric Wards, A &E, schools, GP surgeries, occasional home visits. Expectation is that 60% or more of work time is spent onsite.
The postholder will cross cover for non-Consultant doctors for annual leave etc.
The postholder will also contribute to writing repeat prescriptions and checking blood results.
There is a dedicated ADHD Team, led by an ADHD Specialist Prescribing Nurse. You may spend some time each week supporting the ADHD post diagnostic nursing team in prescribing and monitoring ADHD medication.
The postholder will attend one of the weekly Clinical MDTs, chaired by the Consultant Psychiatrists.
Main duties of the job
o The post holder will be expected to provide appropriate care to patients within the Rotherham area mainly through working closely with the multidisciplinary team through the assessment and treatment of appropriate patients.
o Provide consultation on individual cases where psychiatric opinion is needed to members of the Rotherham multidisciplinary CAMHS team.
o Attend a weekly CAMHS MDT Clinical Meeting, in which the above patients are discussed.
o Attend multiagency meetings and Team around the Child etc as required.
o Provide medical support to the Nurse-led ADHD team. This will include prescribing and monitoring ADHD medication, alongside the ADHD nurses.
o Patient contact will take place mainly in outpatient clinics but may also occur in other community settings including A&E or paediatric wards at Rotherham hospital. Appointments may also occur remotely via MS Teams or sometimes by telephone.
o Provide on-going monitoring and pharmacological treatments in ADHD, depression, OCD, etc.
o All practice will be supervised by a senior doctor or a specialist prescriber.
