Job summary
We are seeking a Senior Imaging Healthcare Assistant to join our CT/MRI service at The James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, working across the CT/MRI Department and our Community Diagnostic Centres in Gorleston and Great Yarmouth.
The successful candidate will support the imaging team by delivering high-quality clinical care, direct patient support, and administrative duties that contribute to safe, efficient patient flow and an excellent patient experience. The role requires regular liaison with wards, the Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, and portering services, demonstrating excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a patient-centred approach at all times.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direction of a Registered Healthcare Professional, Senior Imaging Healthcare Assistants (SIHAs) contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care. They are responsible for prioritising their workload appropriately and developing and maintaining the competencies required to support safe practice and effective performance within the role. This is a vital role within the CT/MRI service, supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centred care while helping to ensure the smooth running of the department. The post holder will play an important role in patient preparation for imaging examinations, including undertaking pre-scan checks and cannulation following appropriate training and competency assessment. No two days are the same, with duties varying according to the clinical area, service demands, and the needs of the patients attending the department. CT/MRI is a growing team who provide diagnostic imaging at the highest level to support a wide range of clinical services throughout the trust.
