This role offers the opportunity to work in both endoscopy suite and theatre-based environments, with weekend shifts initially and potential weekday expansion. As an Endoscopy Nurse, you will be integral to the full patient pathwayfrom pre-assessment through to recoveryensuring a seamless and compassionate patient experience throughout.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct pre-procedure assessments and confirm patient consent
  • Prepare patients for procedures (e.g., observations, cannulation, reassurance)
  • Administer sedation and monitor patients during procedures
  • Assist the endoscopist during the procedure
  • Manage and handle endoscopy equipment during procedures
  • Support the clinician with biopsies and specimen labelling
  • Continuously monitor vital signs throughout the procedure
  • Provide post-procedure care and monitor recovery
  • Deliver initial aftercare advice to patients
  • Accurately document procedure details and outcomes

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prepare endoscopy equipment throughout procedures

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration
  • Experience working within an endoscopy setting
  • Competent in patient assessment, sedation, and recovery care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
