We are looking for a talented and experienced Systemic Psychotherapist with supervisory experience to be part of the Trust wide Adult Mental Health Family & Couple Therapy Service based at the Prudence Skynner Clinic, and to develop skills in a range of clinical, supervisory, teaching and consultation settings.

Main duties of the job

The team has a strong commitment to developing innovative treatment to work with families and couples in an adult mental health setting. The clinic is based in an inner London borough, and we work with a diverse group of families of different cultures and faiths.

The service has a long tradition of delivering systemic psychotherapy training and practice, both within the Trust and externally. We provide systemic training opportunities for a range of professionals in all mental health disciplines, including qualifying level Systemic Psychotherapy trainees. In addition, the team offers supervision to Systemic Family Psychotherapists and consults to multiple teams and agencies in and outside of the Trust.

The post-holder will have:

  • an interest in and experience of working with mental health issues across the life span
  • experience of training professionals in Systemic practice and psychotherapy
  • experience of supervising Systemic Psychotherapists and other professionals

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systemic Psychotherapist with a strong commitment in anti-oppressive practices driven by social justice.

Job description

To provide high-quality evidence based systemic psychotherapy service.

To provide highly specialist systemic assessment and psychotherapy to service users and their family system.

To provide specialist advice and consultation on service users systemic treatment to NHS colleagues, external agencies and carers, working with an appropriate level of professional autonomy within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Trusts policies and procedures.

To provide supervision to trainee systemic psychotherapists

To teach and train systemic psychotherapy up to and including Masters Level

To provide supervision to junior doctors and medical psychotherapy trainees

To undertake research and complex audit and provide research advice to staff and trainees

To contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of the Trusts operational policies and services

To develop, implement, and audit services for families
