We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Practitioner (Night Shifts) to join our dedicated team and help ensure residents receive outstanding care and support throughout the night.
As a Senior Care Practitioner, you will play a key role in leading the night care team, ensuring residents remain safe, comfortable and well supported. Combining hands-on care with leadership responsibilities, you will promote high standards of care, act as a role model for colleagues and help create a calm and reassuring environment for residents and their families.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Night Care Assistant, youll play a vital role in creating a calm, safe, and supportive environment for our residents overnight. Youll lead by example, ensuring every individual feels comfortable, respected, and cared for throughout the night.
- Delivering outstanding care: Supporting residents with personal care, mobility, and ensuring they are comfortable and at ease during the night.
- Looking out for wellbeing: Carrying out regular checks to keep residents safe, settled, and reassured.
- Providing comfort and companionship: Offering a reassuring presence and emotional support for those who may feel unsettled.
- Leading the night team: Guiding and motivating colleagues, delegating tasks effectively, and maintaining high standards of care.
- Managing key tasks: Keeping accurate records, updating care plans, safely administering medication, and completing night audits.
- Keeping everyone safe: Responding calmly and confidently to any incidents or emergencies.
- Supporting team growth: Mentoring and encouraging staff to help build a positive, skilled, and engaged team.
Job description
The Senior Care Practitioner (Night Shifts) is responsible for supporting the management of care delivery during night-time hours and ensuring residents receive safe, effective and compassionate support. The postholder will provide supervision and guidance to the care team while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing for all residents.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a safe and positive care environment, ensuring standards of care remain consistently high and aligned with company values, policies and regulatory requirements.
The role requires strong leadership skills, sound judgement and a proactive approach to supporting both residents and colleagues.
