We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant (Nights) to join our team and help ensure residents receive exceptional care and support throughout the night.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play an important role in leading by example, supporting colleagues and promoting residents' wellbeing, dignity and independence. Combining hands-on care with supervisory responsibilities, you will help create a calm, safe and reassuring environment where residents feel comfortable and supported at all times.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Senior Care Assistant (Nights) to join our team at Priesty Fields Care Home.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality care while providing guidance and day-to-day support to colleagues during night shifts. Working closely with residents, families and healthcare professionals, you will help ensure care is delivered to the highest standards and tailored to each resident's individual needs and preferences.

This role is ideal for an experienced care professional who is passionate about supporting older people and committed to delivering outstanding care.

Job description

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to Care Assistants during night shifts.
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with residents' individual care plans.
  • Promote residents' dignity, independence, privacy and wellbeing at all times.
  • Monitor residents throughout the night and respond appropriately to any changes in wellbeing or care needs.
  • Support the smooth running of the shift through effective organisation and teamwork.
  • Assist with the implementation and review of care plans and risk assessments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of care records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
  • Support shift handovers to ensure continuity and consistency of care.
  • Mentor and support new and existing team members where required.
  • Promote compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and control, and company policies.
  • Contribute to audits, quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help maintain a safe, calm and comfortable environment throughout the home.
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and high standards of care.
  • Uphold the values and reputation of Priesty Fields Care Home and Sandstone Care Group at all times.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the home.

*Overtime is paid for working over full time hours. However, overtime enhancement will not feature on your contract of employment and can be withdrawn at any time as managers decision is final.
