Main duties of the job

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Care Assistant to join our team at Priesty Fields Care Home.

The successful candidate will support residents with their daily living needs while promoting choice, dignity and independence. You will work alongside colleagues, residents, relatives and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and contribute to creating a safe, comfortable and positive environment within the home.

This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys supporting others and is passionate about delivering outstanding care.

Job description

Main Duties of the Job

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with residents' individual needs and preferences.
  • Support residents with daily living activities while promoting dignity, independence and choice.
  • Assist residents to maintain their wellbeing, comfort and quality of life.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with residents, relatives and visitors.
  • Encourage participation in social, recreational and meaningful activities.
  • Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support to residents.
  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and report concerns or changes appropriately.
  • Support residents with nutritional and hydration needs where required.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency of care.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment throughout the home.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and control policies and procedures at all times.
  • Participate in mandatory training and ongoing learning and development opportunities.
  • Uphold the values and standards of Priesty Fields Care Home and Sandstone Care Group.
  • Support colleagues and contribute positively to a culture of teamwork, respect and professionalism.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the home.
