Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board at a pivotal moment in the evolution of integrated care. As Deputy CFO, you will provide strategic financial leadership across the ICB and system, helping to secure long-term financial sustainability while supporting the delivery of improved outcomes for our population. Working closely with the Chief Finance Officer, executive colleagues and colleagues across the ICB, you will lead the development and drive delivery of a forward-looking financial strategy that balances statutory responsibilities with transformation, innovation and value. You will play a key role in shaping how resources are deployed to reduce health inequalities, improve population health and ensure the best possible use of public funds.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be a key leader across the ICB and will be responsible for convening partners to deliver financial plans and provide strategic financial leadership on ICB commissioning decisions. They will also support the delivery of all ICB statutory functions as appropriate. short-term goals and the long-term plan of the ICB whist ensuring this reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations of the ICS.
The postholder will ensure that there are effective mechanisms in place for anticipating, identifying, and responding to key financial risks (including risk sharing arrangements, develop new payment mechanisms) that could impact on the successful delivery of the ICB strategy
Ensure that the integrated care board (ICB) meets the financial targets set for it by NHS England and NHS Improvement, including managing financial risks to living within the overall revenue and capital allocation and the administration costs limit. As a member of the senior leadership team, support the executive directors of SYICB and provide senior leadership across the ICB Chief Finance Officer portfolio. The postholder be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the finance function and developing the streamlining where appropriate and in keeping with moving to best practice.
