Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Sister to lead Robin Smith Ward, a busy and dynamic emergency and elective surgical ward. We are looking for an inspiring clinical leader with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, supporting staff development, and driving continuous improvement. As Senior Sister, you will play a key role in leading a dedicated multidisciplinary team, managing operational performance, and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to our surgical patients. Main duties of the job

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the surgical ward.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality patient care and positive patient experience.
  • Manage staffing, rostering, recruitment, performance and staff development.
  • Lead on patient safety, clinical governance, risk and quality improvement.
  • Support effective patient flow, bed management and timely discharges.Investigate incidents and complaints and implement learning.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage ward resources efficiently and contribute to service improvement initiatives
