Job summary

You'll support people who want to stop smoking, helping them improve their health and wellbeing through personalised advice and encouragement that can make a lasting difference. Based within a supportive community health team, you'll work with individuals, groups and partner organisations to help reduce health inequalities and promote healthier lifestyles. This is a great opportunity to build skills in behaviour change, health improvement and community engagement while supporting people to make positive changes. The role includes a structured development pathway, training and ongoing support to help you grow in the position.

Main duties of the job

What you'll do:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to help people become smoke free
  • Give practical advice on the health impacts of smoking and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Build relationships with healthcare professionals, community groups and partner organisations
  • Keep accurate records, monitor progress and contribute to service evaluation
  • Support community events and awareness activities that promote healthier living

What we're looking for:

  • Strong communication and listening skills with a person-centred approach
  • Experience working with people, community groups or voluntary organisations
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and maintaining accurate records
  • A commitment to learning, development and supporting people from all backgrounds
  • Flexibility to meet service needs, including occasional evening or weekend work
