To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team, using professional judgement and assuming responsibility and accountability, when undertaking the day-to-day co-ordination and delivery of the Groups Flu Immunisations Programme.
The post holder will deliver vaccinations alongside supporting the Trusts flu champions, to ensure that a safe, effective and high-quality service is provided to all staff.
Work to appropriate Trust policies, guidelines, SOPS and Patient Group Immunisations Directives (PGD) and Written Instructions.
Work to set up vaccination timetables across the group including community settings, allocating staff as required.
To liaise with all group collaborative's; ensuring that areas of low vaccine uptake are targeted and that all staff have equal access.
Use excellent communication and negotiation skills to promote the vaccine and allay any staff worries.
Manage and escalate as appropriate day to day concerns including vaccine supply issues, any staffing, IPC, or safety concerns.
To record the number of vaccines delivered and provide feedback to management.
To show help coordinating the operational and governance when delivering the Trust's Flu Immunisations programme.
Main duties of the job
Provide appropriate clinical advice to management, employees/clients regarding flu .
To undertake the delivery of flu vaccinations as directed by the departments Written Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures using own clinical judgement and evidence-based practice in accordance with national, local and department policies, conducting assessment of individual needs and providing education and advice to ensure informed consent.
Actively promote the Health and Wellbeing of employees/clients during clinical contact to ensure that every clinical contact counts.
To respond in the event of a clinical emergency.

Takes appropriate action to manage emergency situations summoning appropriate assistance where necessary.

Demonstrate the ability to use Information Technology to support practice.
Participate in the ward /clinical area clinical audit programme.
Involves staff in the planning of their immunisation, ensuring appropriate consent and agreement is gained.
Considers and interprets all available information and makes justifiable assessment of the individuals health and wellbeing, related needs and risks explaining the possible outcomes to those concerned.
Uses the trust risk assessment tools for aspects of care to inform decisions and communicate with other members of the team.
Develops and records care plans that are appropriate to the patient based on their assessment of the patient.
Acts as patients advocate respecting patients dignity wishes and beliefs involving them in decision making regarding their care/ treatment.
Ensures that nursing care is delivered to the highest standard in line with the essence of care and the trusts fundamental values and behaviours for nursing and midwifery.
Ensures that nursing care is delivered with compassion.
Ensure documentation is completed in accordance with the NMC professional guidelines and trust policy.
Liaises with allied health professionals and other agencies to ensure that care is delivered in a timely and organised way.
Acts within own level of competency to undertake specific interventions and treatments seeking advice, supervision, and training where appropriate.
Monitors the response and reaction to vaccines given making clear decisions and taking appropriate action.
Provides feedback to the clinician responsible on the overall effectiveness of treatment/care.
Responds to records and reports any adverse events or incidents relating to the treatment with an appropriate degree of urgency.
Acts to always ensure staff safety.
Working within the limits of own competency to always ensure the delivery of high-quality care by self and others
Manage own workload effectively, prioritising and using time management skills to ensure information is timely and accurate.
Communicates and supports all staff in understanding and consenting to immunisation. Identifying potentially difficult and challenging situations and seeking appropriate and timely advice as required.
Liaises and communicates effectively with a range of people on a range of matters within the multidisciplinary team. Effectively using different methods of communication to support the delivery of care.
