Job summary
Here at St. Albans City Hospital (SACH) Theatres we are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dynamic theatre practitioners to join our friendly, professional multi-disciplinary team.
We offer rotational opportunities for staff in order for them to develop and/or maintain their skills.
Main duties of the job
We welcome both Registered Nurses and ODPs alike.
Applicants will need to possess good interpersonal skills in order to work effectively within the existing theatre teams whilst also having the ability to work under their own initiative.

Be responsible for the safe management of the post anaesthetised/surgical patient and in doing so promote the safe discharge of the patient to ward care.
Be responsible for the monitoring and nursing management of the surgical patient e.g. airway management, wounds, drains and pain management.
Demonstrate clear leadership qualities in order to perform day to day managerial tasks, including allocation of staff etc.
Job description
SACH is the Surgical Centre for elective surgery and comprises of 8 theatres with the main specialities including Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, General, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT, Pain and Breast surgery.
You will be fully supported upon joining WHTH and each new starter will be assigned a buddy to support them through a structured induction package.
This includes a customised supernumerary period for all new starters which allows you to work and learn alongside experienced practitioners who will support you.
There is a multitude of learning, training and development opportunities within WHTH. Supporting your continuous professional development is important to us.
Whether you are a Theatre Support Worker looking to develop a career into nursing within theatres or as an ODP or into senior management we will support where possible or advise of, a training and development pathway for you.
