Are you interested in using data to improve services and patient outcomes? This exciting role provides specialist analytical leadership for the South Wales Trauma Network, using data science, advanced analytics and business intelligence to support service improvement, research and evidence-based decision-making. The post holder will analyse and interpret complex trauma datasets, including data from the National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR) and the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) Databank, developing dashboards, reports and actionable insights to support operational, managerial and strategic decision-making. Working closely with clinical, academic and operational colleagues, the role will drive quality improvement initiatives, service evaluation and research programmes that improve the delivery of trauma care and patient outcomes across South, Mid and West Wales.

Main duties of the job

The role provides specialist analytical leadership for the South Wales Trauma Network, supporting service evaluation, quality improvement, research and operational delivery through the analysis of complex trauma datasets. Working closely with clinical, operational and academic stakeholders, the post holder will develop and maintain dashboards, reports and analytical products, undertake advanced data analysis using sources including the National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR) and SAIL Databank, and generate insights to inform service planning, performance management and evidence-based decision-making. It is essential that the post holder possesses strong analytical, data warehousing and SQL skills, together with experience in business intelligence and data visualisation tools, to deliver high-quality intelligence that supports service development and improved patient outcomes across the network.
