We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Long Lartin,

HMP Long Lartin is a Category A male prison with a capacity of 620 inmates located in the village of South Littleton in the Wychavon district in Worcestershire.

We offer a challenging, yet rewarding to learn and grow your career in healthcare, where you will be fully supported, and no two days are ever the same!

Due to the location of HMP Long Lartin you will ideally be a car driver.

Hours

  • Monday Sunday
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Weekdays & Weekend shift patters -7.30am 8pm
  • 1.5 week in a month

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £29,264 - £33,510 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)

  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
