Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic dietitian to join our small and friendly team. We are currently recruiting a fixed term Band 6 Specialist Mental Health Dietitian to cover maternity leave.

We are currently looking to recruit a dietitian with some experience working in mental health, for up to 15 hours per week, until end of March 2027.

This role would suit someone with an interest in working in eating disorders, disordered eating, learning disability and general mental health outpatients.

At the time of advertising, this role does not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

Main duties of the job

Under the guidance of the Lead Dietitian for LPFT, this role will contribute to the work of the Dietitian service in the following capacity:

o Providing, maintaining and developing a clinical dietetic service.

o Plan, justify and be responsible for the delivery of specialised dietary advice to service users and their families / carers.

o Plan, manage and prioritise own clinical workload and to ensure maximum efficiency in all areas.

o Participate in dietetic student training.

o Ensure safe practice at all times through the recognition and appreciation of clinical governance.

o Maintain accurate and appropriate clinical records and statistical information as required, in accordance with professional standards.

o Work as a member of a clinical multi-disciplinary team, this will include close working with mental health nurses, psychologists and the physical healthcare team.
