Job summary

Based within the Estates and Facilities Compliance team this management role will deliver an environment that is safe and secure promoting the highest standards of clinical care to patients in all settings across the Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals Group (LCHG).

With a Group reach, the post holder will act as the primary interface between LCHG stakeholders and the external security services, working in close partnership with both internal and external stakeholders such as the police, staff, visitors, patients, professional representative bodies and trade unions. Interpreting national standards, healthcare guidance and relevant legislation, Equally, the role shall be responsible for advising and monitoring of all aspects of security management for the Group, leading the development of security related policies, procedures and safe systems of work, providing excellence in security management

Furthermore the post holder will lead a team of security professionals providing specialist Training, advice and guidance to all levels of management and staff regarding and not limited to: CCTV access, develop door access policy and oversee the management of door access by external security provider linked to violence prevention and reduction, restraint reduction and the management of verbal and non-verbal aggressive behaviours that is contrary to LCHG core values.

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist advice to staff on safety matters, both in relation to preventing violence and aggression as well as liaison with the local Police, the Crown Prosecution Service and other Specialists in the surrounding Areas.

Where incidents of security, violence, aggression or where restraint holds have resulted in a RIDDOR, these will be investigated by the post holder and lessons learned shared locally and through the quarterly security management specialist report to Security Management Safety Group (SMSG) and the Health and Safety Committee.

To be aware of the complex reasons for violence within services and participate in strategic planning, policy development and training to promote a change in culture.

To ensure that appropriate steps are taken to create a pro-security culture within the Group so that staff and patients accept responsibility ensuring where security incidents/breaches occur that they are detected, reported and investigated.

Leading on the prevention and reduction of violence, aggression and criminality.

Support violence/crime prevention / reduction and contribute to the Group risk register enabling risks to be prioritised and effectively managed. Including the development of the departmental business and annual work plan to reduce those risks.

Analyse and interpret complex data in relation to security incidents and maintain responsibility for the capture of, and quality of, data available to the Group and provide recommendations in reports.

Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
