Post No. POSN005104 - Employment Specialist
Help people overcome barriers and achieve their potential through meaningful employment.
Employment can change lives. It can build confidence, improve wellbeing, create independence and open new opportunities.
As an Employment Specialist, you'll work directly with people who face barriers to finding and sustaining work. You'll help individuals identify their strengths, build confidence, overcome challenges and take positive steps towards employment and long-term success.
This is a really rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with people, building trusted relationships and helping others achieve outcomes they may never have thought possible. The role sits within our Connect to Work programme, supporting people across Newport to access meaningful employment and create brighter futures.
We're looking for people who can make a difference
You don't need to come from an employability background to succeed in this role.
We're looking for people who have experience supporting individuals to make positive changes in their lives, whether through advice, guidance, coaching, advocacy or other people-focused support. What matters most is your ability to build trust, understand people's needs and provide practical support that helps people move forward.
What you'll be doing
No two days are the same.
You'll support people with different experiences, ambitions and challenges to identify opportunities and take positive steps towards employment. By understanding what matters to each individual, you'll provide personalised support that helps people overcome barriers and progress towards sustainable employment.
Working alongside colleagues, employers and partner organisations, you'll help create opportunities, advocate for participants and celebrate their successes along the way.
Why join us?
• Make a genuine difference to people's lives and future
• Be part of an innovative programme delivering real impact across Newport
• Receive ongoing training, development and support
• Gain specialist skills and experience in supported employment
• Work within a collaborative and supportive team environment
• See the impact your support can have on people's lives
Is this role right for you?
You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy working with people, are naturally supportive and believe in helping others reach their potential. You'll be someone who can build trust, remain positive when faced with challenges and work collaboratively with others to achieve the best outcomes.
Most importantly, you'll be motivated by the opportunity to support people through meaningful change and see the impact of your work every day.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference, develop new skills and help people achieve their potential through meaningful employment, we'd love to hear from you.
If you would like to have a informal conversation about the role please contact Jessica Morgan at [email protected]
