Are you a professionally qualified youth worker, youth support worker or someone with a passion for helping young people develop their personal and social skills? Pembrokeshire Youth Service is looking for 2 people who can provide youth work interventions in school-based settings either professionally qualified and able to register with the Education Workforce Council as a Youth Worker which will be paid at Grade 7; or for those who currently hold the Level 3 Youth Work Qualification or have significant experience of working with young people and are willing to work towards the required qualifications are able to apply as a Youth Support Worker, which will be paid at Grade 6.
These posts are grant funded for 2 academic years and during this time the successful candidates will be developing new practice in secondary schools working alongside the current School Based Youth Workers in Milford Haven and Henry Tudor schools. The role will include building strong professional relationships with young people who are facing barriers to fully accessing the school curriculum and supporting them to develop the skills and abilities to achieve their fullest potential.
The role will involve responding to school concerns, supporting the pastoral leads in helping young people, whilst ensuring that young people are able to engage appropriately with their education programmes. This includes delivering approved and bespoke programmes on a 1:1 or small group basis and work will be undertaken both on school site and in community settings.
