ABOUT THE ROLE As a Residential Senior Carer at a Barchester care home, you'll look after the different needs of our residents to enable us to deliver quality, person-centred care and support. You will be responsible for leading a team of care staff, which will include training, supervisions and delegating duties on shift. You will also support with the administering and ordering of medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans and risk assessment, and liaising with GP's, district nursing teams and resident family members. You will have previous experience in a residential care setting along with proven team leadership skills and the ability to make appropriate decisions to support the needs and wellbeing of our Residents. Main duties of the job

Additional responsibilities include supporting medication administration and orders, reviewing resident care plans, assessing risks, and liaising with GPs, district nursing teams, and family members. A crucial aspect of this role is respecting the dignity and preferences of residents and contributing to a warm, welcoming, and vibrant environment. Applicants are expected to have an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care with prior experience in a residential care setting. Candidates should possess proven team leadership skills and the ability to make decisions that support the well-being of residents. The role offers opportunities for career development through ongoing training, where Senior Carer Assistants can eventually progress into roles such as Care Practitioners or pursue a nursing pathway.
