We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the Health Informatics team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. This Band 7 role will provide senior business analysis, requirements management and digital workflow expertise across the Trusts EPR, clinical and operational digital systems. The successful candidate will work confidently with clinical, operational, technical, information, project and supplier colleagues to understand service needs, analyse current workflows and support the delivery of safe, efficient, sustainable and fit-for-purpose digital solutions.

The post holder will lead and facilitate requirements gathering, process mapping, workflow redesign and options appraisal activity to support EPR, clinical system, integration-dependent and wider digital transformation initiatives. They will translate complex clinical, operational and technical needs into clear business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and supporting documentation. The role will support design, configuration, testing, implementation and optimisation of digital solutions, ensuring requirements are documented, validated, traceable and aligned to clinical safety, information governance, data quality, operational effectiveness and Trust standards.

The Senior Business Analyst will form part of the wider digital team within Health Informatics, providing business analysis, requirements management and digital workflow expertise across the Trusts EPR, clinical and operational digital systems. The post holder will work across a range of digital solutions, including EPR, clinical systems, integration-dependent workflows and supporting technologies, ensuring business needs are understood and translated into clear, deliverable requirements. The role will involve working with clinical, operational, technical, information, project and supplier colleagues to analyse current workflows, identify opportunities for improvement and support the delivery of safe, efficient, sustainable and fit-for-purpose solutions. The post holder will lead and facilitate requirements gathering, process mapping, workflow redesign and options appraisal activity, producing clear recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making. The post holder will support the design, configuration, testing, implementation and optimisation of digital solutions by ensuring requirements are documented, validated, traceable and aligned to clinical safety, information governance, data quality, operational effectiveness, cyber security and Trust standards. They will work closely with system specialists, configuration, integration, infrastructure, information, testing and supplier teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, supportable and appropriately aligned to existing systems, workflows and technical dependencies.

The Senior Business Analyst will contribute to project delivery by supporting implementation plans, readiness assessments, risk and issue management, change control, benefits mapping, user acceptance testing, defect review, issue resolution and post-implementation review activity. They will engage with clinical and operational teams to reduce duplication, streamline processes and support adoption of safe, efficient and sustainable digital ways of working. The role will provide specialist business analysis advice to project boards, working groups, clinical forums and Trust committees as required, presenting complex information in a clear and proportionate way for different audiences. The post holder will work collaboratively with Business Analyst colleagues and wider digital teams, sharing knowledge, supporting consistent business analysis practice and contributing to continuous improvement across the Health Informatics function.
