Job summary
We are seeking a Senior EPR Configuration Specialist to join the Health Informatics team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. This Band 6 role will support new EPR development and optimisation activity, helping to ensure digital workflows are configured, tested, documented and implemented in line with agreed clinical and operational requirements. The successful candidate will work with clinical, operational, technical and supplier colleagues to support safe, effective and sustainable EPR developments that enable improved workflows, data quality and use of digital systems across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will configure, test, document and support new EPR developments and optimisation requests in line with agreed requirements, Trust standards and change control processes. They will analyse clinical and operational requirements, advise on configuration options and support the safe implementation of EPR solutions. The role will focus on planned development, enhancement and optimisation activity, including supporting patches or upgrades where these are linked to agreed EPR development priorities, maintaining configuration documentation, supporting data quality requirements and providing specialist EPR configuration advice to Health Informatics colleagues and operational services.
Job description
The Senior EPR Configuration Specialist will provide specialist configuration and development expertise for new EPR developments and optimisation activity. The post holder will develop, configure and support planned EPR changes in line with agreed clinical and operational requirements, contributing to safe, effective and sustainable digital workflows across the Trust. The role will include analysing requirements, configuring and testing EPR solutions, documenting system changes and supporting implementation through agreed governance and change control processes. The post holder will act as configuration lead for agreed EPR development and optimisation requests, assessing requirements, advising on options and ensuring changes are delivered in line with Trust priorities, data quality requirements, information governance standards and operational needs. The post holder will maintain accurate configuration documentation, support data quality requirements and provide specialist EPR configuration advice to Health Informatics colleagues, departmental system leads and operational directorates. The focus of the role will be on planned EPR development, enhancement and optimisation activity, with a clear expectation that knowledge, configuration documentation and implementation detail are transferred to relevant Health Informatics colleagues to support ongoing system management and BAU support.
The role will support the safe configuration and continued optimisation of Trust EPR systems through agreed development priorities. The post holder will work with clinical, operational, technical, information governance, information, integration and supplier colleagues to support reporting requirements, maintain system quality and ensure developments are implemented in a coordinated and controlled way. The post holder will contribute to service continuity by sharing configuration knowledge, supporting cross-cover for planned EPR development activity and working collaboratively with colleagues in line with Trust policies and agreed team arrangements.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
