We are looking for a friendly, proactive, and organised Receptionist/Administrator to join our team. We are offering between 18 and 32 hours per week, and a job share will be considered.
As one of the first points of contact for our patients, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring they receive a professional, friendly, and efficient service. You will work across both reception and administrative functions, using your excellent communication and organisational skills to help deliver high-quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
To provide reception and administrative support for the practice, dealing with patients, clinical staff, and colleagues in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner.
You will receive, assist, and direct patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional and undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice. Working in accordance with agreed procedures, protocols, and timescales, your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate patient records, document management, workflow administration, and handling clinical correspondence.
You will require excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You will work closely alongside clinicians and colleagues, always maintaining patient confidentiality and providing a high standard of customer service.

The role includes a variety of reception, administration and prescription support duties.
About us
We are a friendly dispensing practice with a patient list of just over 4,200. Our team consists of three GP Partners, two Salaried GPs, a Paramedic, two Practice Nurses, one Healthcare Assistant (HCA), five Dispensers, an administration and reception team of eight staff, and a Practice Manager.
We are seeking a motivated, well-organised individual to join our team. For this role, it is essential that you are reliable, flexible, have excellent communication and IT skills, and enjoy working as part of a team. You should have a good standard of general education, including at least three GCSEs at Grade 4 (formerly Grade C) or above, including English and Maths.
Previous experience in a healthcare environment would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

It is a 3 partner rural dispensing practice with a list size of just over 4,000 patients. We have a traditional caring ethos, but also embrace technology. The partners maintain personal patient lists and are keen to maintain continuity of care.
