Main duties of the job
Cardiovascular, thoracic and oncology outpatientsBand 5 nurse - Fulltime
We are currently looking for a motivated band 5 Nurse to join our team within the Cardiovascular, Thoracic & Oncology Outpatients Department who works well in a team, has excellent communication skills, can work under pressure, deal with situations as they arise and be able to apply problem solving skills. You will be required to adopt the trust values into practice to ensure a positive patient experience and outcome is achieved during the visit to our department.
Our department facilitates outpatient clinics for cardiology, cardiac surgery, adult congenital heart, thoracic and vascular clinics and oncology/haematology clinics. Many of the clinics held are 'one-stop' clinics meaning that not only does the patient have a consultation with a doctor they also are seen by the nurse practitioner / case manager team for pre-assessment, completion of X-rays, ECG's and ECHO's / Spirometry if necessary in readiness for admission for their procedure.We also support a range of clinics requiring specialist dressings to include the vascular clinics and specialist oncology clinics.

This opportunity will enable the successful candidate to develop their leadership skills, communicate and work with a range of multi professional teams within the department supporting the delivery of established patient pathways and alongside assisting the Senior sister with the running of the dept, prepping and coordinating clinics, performing ECGs, lung function tests, venesection and wound dressings.
Working hours: Mon-Fri :0730/0800 1800/1900 (FT x 4 days)
