Job summary

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in promoting groundbreaking research, supporting innovation programmes, and showcasing how Leeds is helping shape the future of healthcare. Working as an integral member of the communications team, you will provide expert communications support to Research & Innovation colleagues across the Trust and external partners, ensuring our achievements, opportunities and impact are effectively communicated to a wide range of audiences. You will work with researchers, clinicians, senior leaders, national partners and industry collaborators, to uncover news, develop compelling content and deliver communications campaigns across media, digital, corporate materials and internal communications channels. This is a varied role with plenty of positive stories to tell and there is an opportunity to excel at proactive media relations. The role includes responsibility for leading projects and campaigns, managing social media channels, developing marketing materials and producing high-quality content across a variety of platforms.

Main duties of the job

You will have: Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience Minimum of two years, experience in PR and media relations, with good writing skills and good experience, managing media opportunities and delivering media coverage Strong knowledge of digital communications and social media in a corporate environment Experience of managing website content using content management systems Excellent writing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into engaging content for different audiences and into different formats Experience of developing and delivering multi-channel communications campaigns Knowledge of clinical research communications is advantageous, but not essential
