Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team for 4-6 sessions per week.
Acklam Medical Centre is a forward-thinking practice caring for approximately 11,500 patients, with a strong multidisciplinary team and established total triage model.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services, including face-to-face and telephone consultations, clinical triage, home visits where required, and appropriate follow-up care.
We are a total triage practice using SystmConnect, with 15-minute appointments and dedicated review clinics, helping to provide a manageable and well-structured working day. The role also includes reviewing results, prescriptions and correspondence, maintaining accurate clinical records, and working collaboratively with our wider multidisciplinary team.
Job description
The postholder will:
- Undertake face-to-face and telephone consultations, clinical triage and home visits where clinically required.
- Work within our total triage model using SystmConnect, ensuring patients are directed to the most appropriate care.
- Work to 15-minute appointments, with dedicated review clinics incorporated into the working structure.
- Assess, diagnose, investigate and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic health conditions.
- Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with current guidance.
- Review pathology results, clinical correspondence, medication requests and other associated clinical administration.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive patient records using SystmOne.
- Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and other community services.
- Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, audits and quality improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, Nurse Practitioners, nursing staff, ARRS professionals and the wider practice team.
- Contribute to safeguarding, clinical governance and the delivery of safe, effective services.
- Support the practice's involvement in undergraduate medical education and the development of our wider clinical team.
- Maintain professional registration, appraisal, revalidation and continuing professional development requirements.
The postholder will be expected to work in accordance with practice policies and procedures and contribute positively to the continued development of Acklam Medical Centre and the services we provide to our patients.
