Hockley House is a pioneering new children's home in Romsey, supporting young people aged 12-18 with complex emotional, behavioural and mental health needs. As Hampshire's first residential home to bring together social care, healthcare and education in one setting, our specialist team provides intensive, trauma-informed support to help children build stability, resilience and the skills they need to thrive.

Main duties of the job

Joining Hockley House as a Waking Night Support Worker is a rare opportunity to be part of a brand-new service. Working alongside residential, health and education professionals, you'll help create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can rest, feel secure and build positive relationships while remaining connected to their families and communities, supporting them towards greater independence and brighter futures.

What you'll do

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Provide overnight supervision, ensuring children and young people feel safe, supported and secure throughout the night.
  • Complete regular welfare checks and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Support young people to develop independence, routines and resilience.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver therapeutic care plans.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and stable home environment.
