Job summary

Greenwich CAMHS is pleased to offer a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist post within the Adolescent Team. We welcome applications from trainees qualifying this year and current Band 7 psychologists seeking to broaden their experience.

The post holder will provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to young people with complex mental health needs, including assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions. The multidisciplinary team works within an Adaptive Mentalization-Based Integrative Treatment (AMBIT) framework, supporting collaborative work with young people, families and professional networks.

The successful candidate will play a key role within a supportive psychology discipline and multidisciplinary team, contributing to psychologically informed care through consultation, supervision and advice. The role offers opportunities to supervise Trainee Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists, contribute to service development and Quality Improvement projects, and develop leadership skills.

The role includes opportunities to provide supervision to Trainee Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists, offer consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues, and contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and leadership activities.

The successful candidate will provide evidence-based specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapeutic interventions for children, young people and their families accessing the service.

Detailed Job Description is attached. Main responsibilities include:

• Providing a clinical psychology service to clients of the Greenwich CAMHS Adolescent Team, providing highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention.
• Offering advice and consultation on clients psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non professional carers and providing supervision to clinical psychologists/psychological therapists and trainees.
• Providing initial assessment and care coordination for a defined number of young people whose care is provided by the Adolescent Team.
• Offering supervision to more junior staff.
• Working autonomously within professional guidelines, consistent with CYP-IAPT principles and within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to overall service delivery as required.
• Utilising research skills to lead on audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
