An exciting opportunity is available for an Assistant Psychologist to join the HPFT Community Child and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) for the East Hertfordshire team, based at Rosanne House, Welwyn Garden City and Hoddesdon Health Centre.

This role is part of an established community team within the HPFT Specialist Division, focusing on the assessment and treatment of children and young people with mental health needs. The CYPMH team provides specialist assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for young people in the community and offers support in collaboration with children, young people, and their families.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining service databases, entering data, generating reports on service targets, and conducting audits and evaluations in accordance with national guidelines for monitoring service delivery and clinical progress, all under the supervision of a qualified Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling). They will also play a role in supporting the treatment of children and young people, following psychological therapy guidelines and supervision.

Regular clinical supervision will be provided. Applicants should have a recognised undergraduate degree in Psychology and be eligible for Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society.

Job Summary: To assist care planning and delivery for those children & young people who are receiving a community CYPMHS service, in particular supporting data analysis and service evaluation (80% of job plan) and the delivery of psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychological practitioner (20% of job plan). The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary quadrant CYPMHS team assisting in the provision of a high-quality service to CYP and their carers experiencing mental health difficulties and often social difficulties.The role requires skills in assessing, planning, organizing, reviewing and assisting in delivering evidence-based interventions to support service users with achieving meaningful change as agreed with supervising clinician(s). This work will be in accordance with clinical governance processes and professional standards. The post holder will utilize their skills and knowledge to assist in analysing data, service evaluation, outcomes measure use, undertaking assessments and carrying outintervention under supervision. To gain wider experience of professional psychology within the NHS Any other duties commensurate with the grade which may be required to enable effective and efficient running of the service.
