Job summary

This is a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the Bridgend Cardiac Rehabilitation Service. Our well established and highly motivated multidisciplinary team comprises specialist cardiac rehabilitation nurses, physiotherapist, psychologist, plus dedicated secretarial support.

Main duties of the job

The job entails supporting members of the multidisciplinary team in the running of the cardiac rehabilitation service. Tasks will include supporting the physiotherapist in providing the exercise component of the programme; administrative duties, assisting the team secretary and cardiac rehabilitation nurses; additional tasks as required by other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable at Level 3 Speaking/Listening (or 'B1' Level if you've learnt Welsh as an adult). This doesn't mean you have to be fluent or able to write long reports in Welsh; it just means being able to hold simple conversations with patients. Job description

The post holder will work within the Cardiac Rehabilitation team and assist in the delivery of the service to patients with cardiac conditions, with or without direct supervision of the multi-disciplinary team, within all areas of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service (acute and community based).

They will undertake agreed group programmes with individual clients/patients following assessment by members of the multi-disciplinary team, underpinned by appropriate experience/knowledge.

The post holder will undertake responsibility for aspects of assessment and the delivery of exercise groups within agreed parameters, following assessment by the physiotherapist and other multi-disciplinary team staff and maintain clinical records and report accurately to others.

The post holder will also carry out administrative duties, in relation to departmental needs including maintenance of records (paper and electronic) and statistical information, utilising databases and accessing clinical systems.

The post holder is required to undertake a range of clinical and clerical activities as delegated by the Team Manager, Physiotherapist and other multi-disciplinary team members.
