Job summary

The Medical Same Day Emergency Care(SDEC) is going through an exciting period of positive development and change at the moment. We welcome motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Nurses to join our SDEC team.

We have a workforce model focused on providing safe and effective patient care, leadership and development of the nursing team. You will be offered a period of supernumerary duty as well as training from a dedicated team and support and guidance through acclimatization and preceptorship.

Full and part time hours are available; you will be required to work covering day shifts 08.00-20.30 over a 5 day period Mon-Fri.

ED/SDEC experience is essential

Main duties of the job

In this post you will be responsible for providing on going care of patients and providing an effective care pathway within the SDEC department.

We are committed to developing a culture in line with our values that improves quality and enhances the patient experience, and you will play a vital part in developing new ways of working to achieve this goal.

Candidates ether need to be on the NMC register; a period of time spent within the department either as a student or as bank staff will be an asset. It is essential that applicants have spent time in an SDEC/acute hospital andmust be flexible to the demands of the service and be able to work within a multidisciplinary team within a large, busy and evolving department. Excellent communication skills are essential for this post.
