Job Description:

Main duties and responsibilities

Change Manager (2 Posts)   Grade G | Full-time (37 hours per week) | Fixed-term to 22 December 2027

Help deliver DMU’s largest transformation programme

De Montfort University is recruiting two Change Managers to join the Transformation Office and support delivery of the SAP Futures Programme. This major strategic initiative will transition the University’s existing SAP platform from on‑premise infrastructure to a modern cloud environment, transforming core business processes across Finance, HR and Student Records. As the programme moves into implementation, we are seeking experienced change professionals who can ensure colleagues are prepared, supported and ready to adopt new ways of working.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high‑profile transformation programme that will shape how core University services operate for years to come.

About the role

Working as part of the SAP Futures Programme, you will lead and coordinate change management activities across multiple workstreams, helping the University understand the impact of change, engage stakeholders effectively and support successful adoption of new processes and systems.

Key responsibilities include developing and delivering change management strategies and plans aligned to programme objectives; leading change impact assessments and stakeholder analysis; building strong relationships with stakeholders across the University; supporting sponsors and change champions to lead change within their areas; coordinating communications, engagement, learning and business readiness activities; and contributing to the continued development of change management capability within the Transformation Office.

About you

We are looking for experienced change professionals who combine structured change management approaches with excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. You will have experience delivering organisational change within large and complex environments, alongside practical experience of impact assessment, stakeholder engagement and change planning. Strong communication, facilitation and relationship‑building skills are essential, as is confidence engaging and constructively challenging stakeholders at all levels. You will be comfortable working in complex environments with evolving priorities and have experience supporting technology‑enabled transformation programmes. Experience of ERP transformation would be advantageous but is not essential.

The team

You will join DMU’s Transformation Office, the University’s centre of expertise for continuous improvement, project delivery and portfolio management. While your professional development and line management will sit within the Transformation Office, you will be fully embedded within the SAP Futures Programme, working closely with project teams, subject matter experts and stakeholders across the University. This structure offers the best of both worlds: contributing to a major transformation programme while remaining connected to an established professional community.

Additional information

These posts are fixed‑term until 22 December 2027, aligning with the planned delivery of Phase 1 of the SAP Futures Programme.
