Job summary

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Research Fellow to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department within the Women and Child Health Group. The post is based at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital and the Clinical Research Facility at Sandwell Health Campus. This post provides an opportunity to undertake research in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), including clinical trials and translational research within reproductive medicine. The successful candidate will work within an established research team and will be supported to complete an MRes degree (with potential progression to MD/PhD). This is a fixed-term post for one year, commencing August-September 2026. Applications are invited from candidates with at least 12 months' NHS experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or reproductive medicine following Foundation training. Main duties of the job

The post will enable the successful applicant to develop research skills in reproductive medicine, with a focus on PCOS and metabolic health. The role includes involvement in systematic reviews, data analysis, and development of clinical research projects, including preparation for governance and ethical approvals. The appointee will complete NIHR Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and support recruitment and delivery of clinical research studies. There will be opportunities to contribute to fertility, weight management and general gynaecology clinics, and to gain experience in research within ambulatory and outpatient settings.
