Job summary

Chief Cardiac Physiologist We are looking for a Chief Cardiac Physiologist or Echocardiographer to join our Greater Manchester Echo team (South East Manchester and Salford with occasional Liverpool cover.) This post will be on a full-time permanent basis. You will be proficient with BSE reporting guidelines, providing a safe and welcoming clinical environment for patients and support the team in driving clinical standards in clinical diagnostics. You will have the opportunity to mentor and support our trainee physiologists and our wider Education program as well as regular home working to support our clinical audit programme and clinical support framework. Hours - 40 Hours a week- occasional weekend work- flexible shift patterns

Main duties of the job

Perform and report adult trans-thoracic echocardiograms in line with [1] BSE minimum data set and [2] local reporting guidelines Provide expert clinical guidance via our second opinion rota, ensuring our reporting guidelines are adhered to during clinical peer-review Ensure quality assurance checks on equipment and action as appropriate Submit reports and archive study images in accordance with contractual requirements and local SOPs Liaise with relevant hospital departments and GP practices for urgent clinical referrals Support with patient bookings, ensuring patient information systems are maintained

About you:

  • Positive attitude and adaptability, driving best clinical practice
  • Experience of performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiograms to BSE standards
  • Hold BSE (or equivalent)
  • A full UK driving license
  • A full understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Information Governance Statement of Compliance and Caldicott Principles
  • A willingness to embrace new thinking and new technologies
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
