Job summary
The Perinatal Services Patient Safety Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative, analytical and project support to the Perinatal Patient Safety Team, supporting the delivery of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
This will include support for Patient Safety Lead for Maternity, Gynaecology and Paediatrics, Compliance Leads, Band 7 Patient Safety Lead, PMR Midwife and Obstetric Patient Safety Leads. The post holder will act as a central point of coordination for patient safety activity across perinatal services, ensuring patient safety investigations, action plans, reviews and reporting requirements are managed efficiently and accurately.
They will support the collection, analysis and presentation of patient safety data to inform learning, assurance and service improvement.The role requires excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills, together with the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Main duties of the job
o Provide administrative support to thePerinatalPatient Safety Teamwithin theperinatal serviceand widercompliance,governanceand PMRTteams.
o Coordinate patient safety investigations and learning response processesin accordance withPSIRF.
o Maintainpatient safety tracking systems and investigation databases.
o Monitorinvestigation timelines and escalate overdue actions whereappropriate.
o Ensure patient safety records aremaintainedaccurately andin accordance withTrust policies.
o Assistwith preparation of documentation for internal and external reviews.
o Prepare agendas, collatepapersand distribute meeting documentation.
o Attend meetings and producehigh-qualityminutesand action logs.
o Monitoractions arising from meetings and provide progress updates.
o Support the preparation of reports for Trust committees and governance groups.
o Liaise with clinical services,investigatorsand corporate teams.
o Respond professionally to enquiries relating to patient safety processes.
o Maintaineffective relationships with governance,qualityand operational teams.
o Communicate sensitively when handling information relating to patient harm, complaints and investigations.
