Job summary

Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HTFT would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Children's Occupational Therapy Service, supporting children and young people with physical disabilities (aged 0-19 years). While this post is primarily based in the East Riding area of the Trust, the role also includes service-wide oversight and contribution to the quality and consistency of care across the Trust's geographical area, and will require working across the wider area as needed.

This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality, specialist care, while also providing clinical supervision and specialist Occupational Therapy advice across multiple settings, including homes, clinics, and schools.

The Specialist Occupational Therapist will be responsible for managing their own clinical caseload and will demonstrate specialist clinical reasoning, leadership, and decision-making skills. The role involves promoting best practice, supporting service development, and taking responsibility for complex case management and professional development within the team.

A Band 5 to Band 6 Development Post will be considered, depending on relevant experience.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist clinical care to children and young people with complex physical needs.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of high standards of care and service delivery across the wider service.
  • Support and mentor junior staff and students, providing clinical supervision and promoting best practice.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and partner agencies to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to care.
  • Demonstrate and maintain up-to-date Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills.
