Main duties of the job

The role of Registered Children's Home Manager at Agincare Children's Services involves leading and developing a new not-for-profit children's LD residential home in York. The candidate will manage teams of Support and Senior Support Workers, acting as a corporate parent for children with learning disabilities and additional complex needs. This position requires overseeing daily operations, ensuring an inclusive environment, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and legislative standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in children's residential care in a managerial role and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape and embed best practice across this home from the outset, ensuring outstanding outcomes for the children and young people we support.

What You Need to Be Successful in This RoleEssential:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in childrens residential care, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding,Ofstedregulations, and relevant legislation in childrens services.
  • Experience in planning and implementing care plans and maintaining documentation to a high standard in line withChildrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015and Quality Standards.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities who may display complex behaviours.
  • Experience leading Ofsted home inspections.

Desirable

  • Experience opening or developing new services is advantageous.
