Job summary
You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across Braintree Community Hospital, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Duties include cleaning ward areas, clinical areas, hospital corridors, and associated departments in line with cleaning schedules and infection prevention standards. The role may also involve supporting the delivery of patient meals and beverages.
As part of the Integrated Hotel Services team, the successful candidate will contribute to delivering a high-quality, flexible, and customer-focused service, supporting excellent patient care and experience across the hospital site.

Main duties of the job
- Work requests are dealt with promptly and efficiently and meet the needs of the wards/departments.
- Wards/Departments are maintained free of dust, dirt and moisture through the process of daily and periodic cleaning
- Transfer of infection is prevented by the additional process of effective termination cleaning of patient bed areas
- Wards/departments are maintained free from excessive refuse and kept tidy and presentable at all times
- Any other reasonable ad hoc duties as required for service provision
- Provide a catering service to the patients as and when required
- Promote positive feedback for other service users, by providing the highest standard of cleaning
- Communicate with other team members via verbal or written communication skills
- Promote a positive image of yourself and the service
