Community-based social inclusion groups and activities.Preparing materials and setting up group sessions.Encouraging service users to participate in activities and discussions.Supporting therapeutic activities in community settings.Accompanying staff and service users on planned off-site activities.Gathering service user feedback through Friends and Family Test (FFT) surveys.Supporting carers' groups and engagement activities.Developing welcome packs and resources for new service users.Providing a listening ear to service users and carers within agreed volunteer boundaries.

Full training, support and supervision will be provided.

Main duties of the job

To support the delivery of services within the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service under the supervision of substantive staff members. The volunteer will assist with social inclusion activities, patient experience feedback, carer engagement activities, therapeutic community-based activities, and the development of resources that support service users and carers.

Job description

  • Support staff with planned off-site social groups and activities.Assist with preparation and set-up of social inclusion groups.Support Social Inclusion Workers with activities across the four Early Intervention teams.Assist with gathering patient feedback through Friends and Family Test (FFT) collection.Support staff in the delivery of therapeutic activities within community settings.Accompany staff when escorting service users on planned off-site activities.Support the delivery of carers' groups for parents and carers where appropriate and in line with volunteer interests and experience.Assist with the preparation of materials and resources that support service delivery.Contribute to the development and maintenance of welcome packs for new service users.Provide a listening ear to service users and carers within agreed boundaries.Encourage participation and engagement in discussions and activities.Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the volunteer role following discussion with the supervisor
