Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable people experiencing homelessness?
Blackburn with Darwen Housing Needs is seeking a committed and compassionate Rough Sleeper Navigator to support individuals who are sleeping rough or at risk of rough sleeping. This is a rewarding role where you will help some of the borough's most vulnerable residents access accommodation, improve their wellbeing, and build a pathway towards independent living.
About the Role
As a Rough Sleeper Navigator, you will:
- Undertake outreach across the borough to identify and engage rough sleepers.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with individuals who may be disengaged from services.
- Assess support and housing needs and develop personalised support plans.
- Help clients access emergency, temporary, supported, and permanent accommodation.
- Work closely with health services, housing providers, social care, substance misuse services, and other partners to achieve positive outcomes.
- Manage a caseload of individuals with complex needs, ensuring accurate record keeping and regular reviews.
- Promote tenancy sustainment, independence, and prevention of repeat homelessness.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting vulnerable individuals, ideally within homelessness, housing, health, or social care services.
- Can build effective relationships and engage people facing multiple disadvantages.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and multi-agency working.
- Is organised, resilient, and able to manage a varied caseload.

An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this post. Flexible working, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends, may be required to meet service needs.
