Mental Health Nurse Children & Young People (Autism & ADHD)NHS
Job summary
We are seeking a Mental Health Nurse to join our CAMHS Neurodiversity Pathway, supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD and co-occurring mental health difficulties, and their families, within a community setting.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, diagnosis support and ongoing intervention, working closely with schools, families and other children's services to deliver joined-up, child-centred care. We welcome applications from nurses at all stages of their career with a genuine interest in this area.
Main duties of the job
Undertake nursing assessments as part of the multidisciplinary autism/ADHD diagnostic pathway.
Deliver evidence-based interventions and care plans for children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions and mental health needs.
Support families and carers with psychoeducation, strategies and signposting to wider support.
Support and monitor medication where prescribed, working within shared care arrangements and closely with prescribers.
Liaise with schools, social care, paediatrics and voluntary sector organisations to coordinate holistic support.
Contribute to safeguarding processes in line with Trust and statutory guidance.
Support young people through key transitions, including into adult services.
Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to pathway development and audit.
