Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Asset Officer to join the Trust in a newly created role. This position offers flexible working hours across Monday to Friday and will play a key role in the operational management of the Trust new asset management system.

The role will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the new software system, ensuring that all asset records are accurately maintained through their lifecycle. This includes the registration, updating, delivering, tracking and disposal of assets.

The role will also involve conducting physical asset audits across Trust sites using handheld PDA technology to verify asset locations, monitor asset movements and ensure data accuracy within the system.

Main duties of the job

  • Accountable for recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible).
  • Responsible for assigning, tagging, and delivery of all newly acquired fixed assets.
  • Responsible for the tracking of all existing fixed assets,
  • Tracking of the disposal of fixed assets and removal from Trust systems
  • Create a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets.
  • Undertake and support end user training of tracking assets in relevant departments.
  • Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals in the asset management system.
  • Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets.
  • Identify and investigate any obsolete assets.
  • Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.
