Main duties of the job

The role of a Bank Cook with Agincare is more than just cooking. As a Bank Cook, you will be working with the team to provide a high quality of life for those that need it at Hazlemere Lodge in High Wycombe. You'll be responsible for menu planning in collaboration with the home manager and residents, and implementing menu ideas as well as meeting residents' specific nutritional and dietary needs. Responsibilities also include kitchen management, stock management, and maintaining hygiene standards. Skills needed include a background in catering with an understanding of how to run a professional kitchen, and experience in a care home kitchen setting. Knowledge of the IDDSI framework for complex dietary requirements is desirable. This position is bank, so you work as and when required. A day in the life of a Cook

  • Menu planning -Collaborating with the home manager and our residents' requests and wishes, you will be able to develop and implement menu ideas. Our homes are always having themed days and events where you can showcase your skills and creativity.
  • Understanding dietary needs - You will work closely with the wider staff to ensure we are meeting our resident's specific nutritional and dietary needs including modified food textures and allergies.
  • Kitchen Management -You will be the main point of contact for the kitchen and responsible for the day to day running of stock management and hygiene standards
