Job summary
The practice is looking to recruit a highly capable administrator to take on an important new role. Working directly with the practice management team, the successful candidate will administer records of staff, policies and procedures, patient complaints and complements and practice learning and training to ensure compliance with health regulations as set by the Care Quality Commission. Throughout, the Practice Administrator will look to replace paper records with easy to access and interpret electronic systems.
Main duties of the job
CQC Compliance:
- Staff recruitment, induction, training and annual checks
- Required policies and procedures and evidence of reviews
- Patient complaints and compliments and resulting practice learning and reflection
- Significant events and resulting practice learning and reflection
- Compliance with information governance and data security standards
- Helping to co-ordinate regular inspection training exercises
Administration of Private Work:
- Drafting and processing patient letters and forms using standard templates
- Answering patient queries
- Appointment bookings
- Email and telephone follow-up to initial enquiries
- Encouraging online reviews
General:
- Continual development of necessary skills through training and learning
- Adherence to data quality and data security standards
- Awareness of potential patient vulnerabilities and safeguarding needs
Job description
The candidate will establish and implement administrative systems for a small but developing private services that run alongside the NHS care at the practice, including appointment scheduling, patient letter templates and capturing of patient feedback. This will eventually lead to a process of CQC registration mirroring the compliance work undertaken for NHS services.
This is a new permanent role, ideally working about 30 hours per week, but with a great deal of flexibility on how those hours are set within the week. The role provides an exciting opportunity to play a part in the development of new services and to grow and develop employable skills. Pay is competitive and dependent on skills and experience, but with the potential to grow with the development of services.
