Were looking for a dedicated Bank Healthcare Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of patients and their families. Please note: This is bank/casual position Healthcare bank work is flexible, temporary work where staff join the St Luke's staff bank list and pick up shifts as needed, rather than having guaranteed regular hours. About the Role As a Healthcare Assistant, youll work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, individualised care that respects each persons dignity, choice, and individuality. Youll be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting patients physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Main duties of the job
Support patients and their families as part of a caring and committed team. Assist in providing holistic palliative care, including end-of-life care. Help create a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues. Contribute to accurate and respectful documentation of care. Participate in post-bereavement care and support. Recognise when to refer concerns to senior staff.
Job description
Essential: Experience in an acute or palliative care setting. NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare (or equivalent experience). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team. A caring, compassionate approach to supporting those at end of life. Desirable: Experience specifically in end-of-life care. Knowledge of palliative care needs. Personal Attributes: Were looking for someone who: Builds warm, trusting relationships with patients and colleagues. Takes pride in the quality of care they provide. Upholds confidentiality and respects each persons dignity. Demonstrates honesty and a willingness to raise concerns appropriately.
