Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our large, friendly and well established GP practice in North Leeds. This will be a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week.
Ideally, we would like to appoint an experienced Practice Nurse, particularly someone with experience in long-term condition management and a good understanding of working within primary care. However, we are also open to considering a newly qualified nurse or someone new to general practice. For us, the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are just as important as previous experience. If you are motivated, keen to develop your skills and committed to providing excellent patient care, we would be interested in hearing from you. There will be training and clinical supervision available for the right candidate to learn new skills.

Main duties of the job
This is a full-time Practice Nurse position, with the possibility of working your hours across 4 days, depending on the successful candidate's preference and the needs of the practice.
Friday availability from 8am6pm is essential. We are open Monday to Friday 8am-6:30pm with an evening surgery on a Thursday till 8pm.
The practice nurse role provides caring support, patient interventions and treatment room procedures. As part of the multi-disciplinary team the nurse will work within their scope of practice to provide patient centred care.
Job description
The main duties of the nurse will include:
- Childhood immunisations: routine baby immunisations and unscheduled or incomplete immunisations in line with the UK framework.
- Seasonal and travel vaccinations: including flu, covid and other national schemes.
- Women's health: including contraception, cervical screening and HRT.
- Wound care: including post-operative and chronic wound management.
- Long-term condition reviews and management: including data collection, routine health checks and annual reviews.
- Health promotion and preventative care: including NHS health checks and promoting healthy living habits.
- General practice nursing duties: promoting infection prevention control, keeping clinical areas clean and stocked, assisting HCAs, promoting patient centred care.

We are a large and friendly practice with a population of approximately 14000 patients. We have a team of 3 GP partners, 7 salaried GPs, 3 Registrars, one Advanced Nurse practitioner, 4 Nurses and 3 health care assistants. We also have a wider multi-disciplinary team with physiotherapists, pharmacists and well being practitioners working on site. We are a friendly and supportive practice with regular clinical and whole team meetings where contribution to practice development is encouraged.
