Job summary

Our Complex Psychosis Pathway provides a comprehensive, integrated approach to mental health rehabilitation and assertive community treatment across Leeds which includes the following teams. Level 2 Inpatient Rehabilitation (at Ward 5 Newsam relocating to Parkside Lodge), Level 1 Inpatient Rehabilitation (at Asket Centre), the Community Rehabilitation Team and Assertive Outreach Team. The pathway also includes Community Rehabilitation Practitioners embedded in the transformed community hubs, out of trust case management, Leeds Recovery College, Arts and Minds and the Volunteers Service

The service is established on strong principles of recovery and partnership working and all candidates must have strong values around recovery, social inclusion and diversity.We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist, who is motivated and passionate about working in a rehabilitation and recovery model of care to provide leadership within our Level 1 Mental Health Rehabilitation Service at Asket Croft.

Main duties of the job

It is an exciting time to join the Complex Psychosis Pathway. We use an stepped approach to our inpatient care and have additional resources from the wider Pathway including Level 2 rehabilitation, Community Rehab Team, AOT and Recovery College, Arts and Mind, Volunteer Services

Asket Croft is one of the two level 1inpatient rehabilitation wards on Asket Site and provides care and treatment for 20 service users with complex psychosis and rehabilitation needs.

The post holder will work in a way that promotes positive partnership working between all members of the Complex Psychosis Pathway and its partners. They will have an excellent understanding of the principles of assessment and recovery and will practice clinically in a way that promotes therapeutic optimism and hope with service users

The post holder will participate as directed by the Band 7 Ward Manager and other senior colleagues in the operational functioning of the ward.

The post holder will key work a defined caseload of service users. This will involve conducting clinical assessments that assess service users' holistic needs including risk in accordance with the Complex Psychosis Pathway. They will provide and coordinate highly skilled occupational and psychosocial interventions (including group work) and share skills with other team members, through training and supervision.

If successful you will be offered a comprehensive continuing professional development package which will include access to appraisal, clinical and managerial supervision.You will provide clinical care and leadership to a caseload of service users alongside RMHNs, Recovery Workers & the wider MDT. You will contribute to the coordination of shifts, provide reports and assessments and engage in the delivery of a care pathway plan to support, promote and further develop the skills and the ability of service users. The post holder will join the leadership team at Asket Croft, consisting of 2 Band 6 RMHNs & CTM, in providing management across the team including management supervision and appraisals and involvement in service development.
