We are a friendly family Practice, committed to delivering safe, high-quality services in innovative ways. As a large, well-established and forward-thinking GP Practice, we are proud to serve a registered patient population of approximately 42,000 patients.
As our Practice continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to join our Administrative Team who is flexible and adaptable to the needs of the service.
This is a varied and rewarding front-line role, combining medical administration and reception responsibilities. You will play an important part in supporting our patients, clinicians and wider multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the Practice.

Main duties of the job
As a Medical Administrator, you will be one of the first points of contact for our patients and will provide a professional, helpful and compassionate service across a range of administrative and reception functions.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing a friendly, professional and helpful first point of contact for patients, both face-to-face and by telephone.
- Handling telephone calls, digital contacts, practice emails and patient enquiries appropriately and efficiently.
- Undertaking medical administration and supporting the administrative elements of clinical triage.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the Practice.
The role can be busy and fast-paced, and you will need to remain calm, professional and helpful when working under pressure. You will be expected to treat patients, visitors and colleagues with courtesy and respect and contribute to a welcoming and positive Practice environment.
Working Hours
37.5 hours per week (full-time) preferred. We may also consider applications from candidates seeking a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Working hours will be scheduled within the Practice's opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:0018:30
Saturday: 09:0017:00
The role includes a regular requirement to work until 6.30 pm on Fridays. Candidates must therefore be able to work the required Friday late finish as part of their working pattern.

- Committed to maintaining confidentiality and high standards of information governance.
- Able to demonstrate our values of Compassion, Respect, Learning, Quality and Integrity in their everyday work.
Previous administrative experience and a strong background in customer service are essential.
Previous experience of working within primary care, the NHS or another healthcare environment would be advantageous. However, we will provide training on Practice-specific systems and processes.
