Parish Fields Practice is a friendly, established GMS practice serving around 8,500 patients in rural Norfolk. We are looking for aforward-thinking, friendly and team-focused Salaried GPto join our supportive and welcoming practice.

We are looking for a GP who shares this ethos and who will provide a high standard of clinical care while working collaboratively with colleagues across the practice and our wider Primary Care Network.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a GP who:

Job description

The post holder will work as part of the practice clinical team to provide safe, effective and patient-centred general medical services to the practice population.

The role will involve working collaboratively with GP colleagues, nursing staff, the wider multidisciplinary team and administrative colleagues to ensure patients receive high-quality, coordinated care.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Provide comprehensive general medical services to registered patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and appropriate follow-up.
• Manage a varied clinical workload, including acute presentations, long-term conditions, preventative care and health promotion.
• Work within professional, ethical and legal standards and maintain accurate and appropriate clinical records.
• Prescribe safely and effectively in accordance with current guidance and practice policies.
• Make appropriate referrals and liaise with secondary care, community services and other healthcare professionals where required.
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team and our Primary Care Network to support joined-up patient care.
• Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, audits, quality improvement initiatives and other practice development activities.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of practice policies, protocols and clinical governance arrangements.
• Support continuity of care and promote shared decision-making with patients wherever appropriate.
• Communicate clearly, respectfully and compassionately with patients, carers and colleagues.
• Maintain professional knowledge and competence through continuing professional development, appraisal and revalidation.
• Contribute positively to the practices supportive team culture, recognising the contribution of all members of the practice team.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and respectful working environment.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility.

Clinical governance and professional responsibilities

The post holder will:

• Maintain appropriate professional registration and fulfil all requirements relating to appraisal and revalidation.
• Maintain appropriate continuing professional development and keep clinical knowledge and skills up to date.
• Participate in practice clinical governance processes, including significant event reviews, clinical audits and quality improvement work.
• Comply with practice policies, procedures and protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with information governance requirements.
• Work within relevant professional, statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of patient care and working relationships.
• Maintain a high standard of professional conduct at all times.

About us

Parish Fields Practice has a diverse and experienced multidisciplinary team, including a Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacist, Social Prescriber, Mental Health Practitioner & First Contact Physiotherapists, alongside our GP team, nursing, HCA, administration, reception and dispensary colleagues.

Teamwork is one of the things we are most proud of. Our clinical and non-clinical teams work closely together, with an emphasis on communication, mutual support and treating colleagues with the same respect that we aim to provide to our patients.

We also place a strong emphasis onstaff wellbeing. Our Practice Nurse leads a successful workplace wellbeing programme, which has included team days out, quiz nights, regular wellbeing lunches and other opportunities for colleagues to spend time together outside of the usual working environment.

Our GP Partners remain clinically involved and are approachable, supportive and valued members of the wider practice team. We believe that everyone has an important role to play, regardless of their position within the practice.

Our newly appointed Practice Manager is an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner, bringing a strong understanding of the clinical pressures faced by primary care professionals and the importance of creating a supportive environment in which clinicians can do their best work.
